Grameen Koota wins top honours at the Financial Inclusion Awards 2013

After having been shortlisted as one of the top 50 projects in India in the Financial Inclusion (Microfinance) Sector, Grameen Financial Services Pvt Ltd,(GFSPL-popularly known as Grameen Koota) won the prestigious Skoch Financial Inclusion Award 2013 in the microfinance category. Mr Suresh Krishna, Managing Director of GFSPL receieved the tropy and certificate from former RBI Governor and current Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, Dr C Rangarajan on the 5th of January at the Skoch Financial Inclusion Awards held in New Delhi. Furthermore Mr Krishna also participated in the roundtable disussion on “ Voices from Grassroots on Livelihoods”. The Skoch Financial Inclusion award recognized Grameen Financial Services' achievement in the microfinance services sector and honoured the company for its committment towards promoting inclusive growth and poverty alleviation from across urban and rural India. Financial inclusion denotes the delivery of financial services, which include credit, deposit, insurance, payments facilities, delivery of these services at affordable cost to the vulnerable sections of the population. SKOCH Consultancy Services has instituted several of the oldest, most prestigious independent civilian awards in the field of financial inclusion, economy, industry, governance, capacity building, empowerment, inclusive growth, citizen services delivery, technology, academics and change management. Skoch Awards identify and salute best practices and comprehensively document, publish and put in public domain for the knowledge of others. The awardees were selected by an eminent jury comprising of industry leaders, domain experts, economists and academicians.
