Habibunisha and her husband use to feel a great strain because they were responsible for taking care of her husband’s eight siblings and their own five children, making it very difficult to ensure food. Her husband worked as a day laborer in a silk factory, earning just Rs. 25 per day ($.50), while she stayed at home to look after the family.

The family used the first loan to invest Rs. 4,000 ($1000) in seasonable businesses, such as mango sales. The second loan was used to lease a mango tree and improve the business. This provided the family with an annual income of Rs. 25,000 ($6250). The family is now further improving the mango business, working in the silk industry and investing in a stone quarry business.

In the near future, Habibunisha hopes to purchase the home her family lives in, marry her children and help them build good homes as well.
