Director : Ms. Vinatha M Reddy
BA. AMI (Diploma)
Ms. Reddy has been involved in the field of development since 1995. Prior to this, she was a Montessori-trained teacher, working in Taraporewalla AMI House of Children, Hyderabad. After moving to Bangalore, she started a rural-based Montessori school called “Gurukul.”
Since 1996, Ms. Reddy has been focused on microcredit, studying the Grameen Bank model. Additionally, she has also studied ASA (Activists for Social Alternatives) and SHARE (Society for Helping Awakening Rural Poor through Education), the two leading Grameen replicators in India. In 1998, she attended the Grameen International Dialogue Program in Dhaka, a two-week immersion training course on Grameen methodology. Thereafter, she submitted to the Grameen Trust a pilot-phase project proposal, which was immediately accepted for seed capital funding. Grameen Koota was started in 1999. Ms. Reddy has attended several seminars and training programs on microcredit and Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). She has guided Grameen Koota through a successful pilot phase and is now looking at strategies to expand its outreach in rural Karnataka. She has attended the Microcredit Summit Conferences in New York City, Delhi, and Dhaka.
Ms. Reddy remains committed to making Grameen Koota a financially sustainable institution, while reaching out to the poorest sections of society, especially empowering women and ensuring a measurable impact on poverty. |

Managing Director : Mr. Suresh K. K.
Diploma in Computer Applications; M.A., Sociology
Mr. Suresh has a background in teaching and entered the field of development in 1997. He had previously worked in a NGO which focused on micro enterprise development, non-formal education, and the promotion of women Self Help Groups.
He joined Grameen Koota in 1999 as the first employee and has studied and observed the nuances of microcredit at SKS (Swayam Krishi Sangham), SHARE (Society for Helping Awakening Rural Poor through Education), ASA (Activists for Social Alternatives) and CFTS. Undertook Grameen Basics training at Grameen Bank, Dhaka. Mr. Suresh has attended numerous national and international conferences and seminars and trained in the following: Life-Cycle Approach to Market Research, held at the Indian School of Microfinance for Women in Ahmedabad, Finance Management, Accounts Management, Risk Management, Delinquency Management by EDA rural systems, Personal Management at ASCII, Hyderabad, Performance Management by IRMA, Anand. Additionally, he has attended international training programs conducted by Bankakadamie, Frankfurt on Microfinance Management and Strategic Leadership conducted by Harvard Business School, Boston.
He has participated in programs and workshops on microcredit and was part of the team in formulating Grameen Koota’s Strategic Business Plan using Microfin Software, developed by the World Bank.
As Managing Director, Mr. Suresh continues to head Grameen Koota’s staff with a strong focus on adapting the best practices in the field of microcredit into the ever-evolving program strategy.

Director: Mrs. Daksha Niranjan Shah
B.A., M.B.A (IIMA)
Mrs. Shah has been in the field of development since 1998. Prior to this she worked as Production and Finance Manger in a cotton textile mill in Ahmedabad, and Managing Director in an Intermediate Dye manufacturing unit.
She has attended various workshops and seminars on microcredit including a training conducted in Mauritius on Delinquency Management, as a representative of FWWB at Women’s World Banking in New York, a microfinance course conducted by Economic Institute at Colorado, USA and workshops of NABARD and SIDBI from time to time. These knowledge developments have made Mrs. Shah an expert in evaluating microfinance organisations as well to put them on a growth scale.
Mrs. Shah is a very resourceful person and remains committed to making Grameen Koota a financially sustainable institution, especially for the development of women below the poverty line.

Director: Dr. Manjunath L H
BVSC, MVSC.
Dr. Manjunath is a qualified Veterinary Doctor. He has been in this field of Banking & Development since 1978. He has completed his MVSC in Barielly in the year 1977 and he has obtained fellowships under ICAR. In his 27 years of experience he handled various functions such as banking, managing a veterinary hospital, credit appraisal designing, organizing, implementations, etc.
Currently Dr. Manjunath is the Executive Director of SKDRDP, which is the largest MFI from Karnataka. He joined SKDRDP in 2001 and guided SKDRDP’s client outreach from 33,796 to 4,66,601, client savings from 54.61 million to 829.42 million, credit outstanding from 38.07 million to 2511.03 million, number of project offices 2 to 18, number of field offices from 82 to 783.
Prior to SKDRDP he has worked with Syndicate Bank from 1980 to 2001. During his tenure at the bank he had prominent positions such as Manager, Priority Credit in New Delhi, Manager Credit cell in Udupi, Senior Manager in Thirthahalli., Veterinary Officer for Canara Milk Producers Cooperative Union, Manipal, Agriculture Development Officer in Manipal, Director of Rural Development & Self-Employment Training Institute, Ujire for 6 years, and the founder Director of T.A. Pai Institute of Rural Development, Shivalli-Manipal. Additionally he has worked as a Veterinary Surgeon, Kuknur Raichur, and he was incharge of Vety.hospital for Dept. of Animal husbandry & Vety. A member of boards and committees, including Academic Advisory Committee, NABARD in Mangalore, Executive Committee member of CAPART, Dairy Technology Mission, and regularly invited by the All India Radio to deliver talks related to topics of dairying, micro credit, rural development, etc.
Dr. Manjunath is a self-motivated individual, with excellent written communication, a quick decision-maker, adaptable and professionally qualified in economic activities. The multidimensional exposure in the field work, training and in managing time, money and staff has given him these assets.
As a director, Dr. Manjunath L H with his immense knowledge in microfinance and other aspects will be supporting the development of microfinance for sustainable economic development of the needy poor women.

Sriram Iyer
BE (Structural Engg.) 1992, MBA (Finance) 1994
Mr. Iyer has had thirteen years of work experience in the Banking and Financial services industry, held various leadership positions in Sales and Business development across multiple geographies. He has had experience in managing large teams of people across diverse functions including sales, underwriting, service and operations. He has been instrumental in turning around businesses and by taking the businesses to new heights, at the same time maintaining the quality of the portfolio and cost under tight control.
He brings a deep understanding of retail banking and sales finance to the table.
He is an avid and voracious reader with particular interest in books with historical overtones. He has also delivered lectures at Management Institutes on contemporary issues in management.
